After finding an old wooden mannequin in a tip full of rubbish outside Bonhams where I worked as a designer before joining Top Left Design, not believing that someone was going to throw away something so precious I tucked it under my arm and carried it all the way home. It sat around in my house for a good while until Rob (my fiancée) asked what I was going to do with it. That was a good question – I thought what am I going to do with it? So I began experimenting by creating paper mache moulds and then using beautiful decorative papers. The first few were a bit trial and error but it suddenly came together and I found myself able to create these lovely mannequins.
Each mannequin created is different and they can be made using any colours/paper. For the stands I am using old wooden stands that I find in furniture shops, car boot sales and charity shops and am restoring these to give them a second life. Therefore each mannequin created is truly a one off piece.
They can be used to display jewellery, scarves, bag, belts and much more and are a perfect addition to any room. They have a true vintage style.
I will be adding more to this collection as I have about a million ideas for them so watch this space!
If you would like to order one the cost is £120 for each including the stand and each one is made to order and can also be made to your specification of colours and paper so please get in touch.
